Suffolk County’s Department of Public Works has submitted applications for the dredging of the Forge River and Narrow’s Bay including the tributaries of these waterways. Legislator Kate Browning will be hosting a Public Informational meeting as an opportunity to discuss the proposed dredging projects. There will be a brief presentation by the Suffolk County Department of Public Works followed by a public comment period.
The application review process is underway and concerns have been raised regarding proposed spoil sites, the nature of the spoils being removed and the time frame for the project moving forward. There have also been general questions pertaining to the applications. In order to answer these concerns and inform the public in a transparent forum, residents will have an opportunity to meet with a panel consisting of Elected Officials from the Federal, State, County, and Town as well as representatives from the Suffolk County Department of Public Works, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, and the Army Corps of Engineers.
Thursday, September 22nd, from 7:00PM to 9:00PM
Please join Legislator Browning and your other local elected officials at William Paca Middle School in the Auditorium on September 22nd from 7:00PM
