LI News Radio will present the Primary Election Debate, live, at 5pm, Friday, May 23rd. The Republican candidates for US Congress in NY’s first district, George Demos and Lee Zeldin will debate live for one hour on a variety of different topics from Health Care, Education, Foreign Policy, National Debt and more. In keeping with their highly interactive format, the station will solicit listener questions for the candidates on the LI News Radio web site, www.linewsradio.com, Facebook and Twitter at #CD1. Voters can tune-in on Friday to 103.9 or listen to the live stream at www.linewsradio.com
The debate will be held in the LI News Radio Broadcast Center at Long Island MacArthur Airport.
LI News Radio General Manager Matt Goldapper said, “This is a unique political face off at a crucial time for NY CD 1 voters. LI News radio is proud to present this live, candid look at the candidates and what they stand for.”
Zeldin Campaign Manager Chapin Fay said: “As more and more people question his background, the source of his campaign funding and his scheming to deceive voters, Demos has finally realized that it is time to come out of hiding. The Republican voters of the First Congressional District deserve an explanation for Demos’ blatant lies and we are confident that everyone will see through his deception when he is stripped of his expensive advertising bubble for a full hour.”
This Congressional debate is an important part of the commitment LI News Radio has made to keep Long Islanders informed about issues that affect their lives and the leaders that shape Long Island.
103.9FM was launched in January 2014 as an information source and sounding board for issues that influence Long Island life, community and business.
