My administration has right-sized government and maintained an efficient workforce that is 20% leaner than we inherited. We also instituted technological solutions and job training to assist our workforce in delivering the excellent services they provide our residents.
Recognizing that jobs are the key to a growing economy, I instituted job fairs to link the unemployed with businesses and corporations in need of workers. I also invested funds in job training and retraining centers with our local towns. In partnership with the County’s Industrial Development Agency, I offered incentives that helped create and retain over 3,500 private sector jobs.
I am so very proud of the array of events Nassau County is hosting this Holiday season. Over the next month, we have a fun-filled line up of quality entertainment and the best part is that most events are free for Nassau County residents!
In the last three years, I have delivered to the Legislature three no property tax increase budgets. For the second consecutive year, the budget reduces spending while continuing to deliver critical services to our residents.
