Because of an increase in reported incidents since this warning was issued, the Suffolk County Police Department is again warning residents of telephone scams during which people are asked to wire money immediately for a family member in trouble.
Motorists and pedestrians are prohibited south of Montauk Highway in Babylon Village, Lindenhurst and Copiague. Montauk Highway will remain open. Anyone who disregards this curfew will be subject to arrest.
