TESTING AT DEER PARK COMMUNITY CENTER FROM 11:00 AM TO 5:00 PM
HUNTINGTON, N.Y. – Suffolk County Legislator Steve Stern (D-Huntington) 16th L.D., is asking residents of our community to register to become bone marrow donors this Saturday, July 30th from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Deer Park Community Center, 41 Homer Avenue, Deer Park, NY. The drive is being held to find a donor for Marcia Jabick, a Deer Park mother and grandmother-to-be, who survived breast cancer and is now battling a rare form of leukemia. Her only chance for survival is a bone marrow transplant from an unrelated donor. Testing is simple and free. A cheek swab is all that is needed to determine compatibility.
“I ask our neighbors to please come to the Deer Park Community Center this Saturday and “Get Swabbed,” Legislator Stern said. “Hopefully this effort can provide the critically important assistance that Marcia Jabick and others need who are waiting for a life-saving bone-marrow transplant.”
