Suffolk County Legislators Bill Lindsay III and Sarah Anker will join Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone to sign legislation to give voters a choice in November to merge the Treasurer’s Office and the Suffolk County Comptroller’s Office. Suffolk County is the only county out of 62 in New York State to have both an elected Comptroller and a Treasurer.

Celebrating the Life of Former U.S. Congressman Otis G. Pike

The life of the late Otis G. Pike – a 9-term congressman in the 1960s and 1970s – will be celebrated at a memorial service in his hometown, Riverhead, on Saturday, May 24. It will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the First Congregational Church, 103 First Street. Visiting hours will be 7 – 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 22 and 2 – 4 p.m. & 7 – 9 p.m. on Friday, May 23 at the Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home, 406 East Main St., Riverhead.
